How to get to Dubai Mall
It is very easy to visit Dubai Mall and if you're in Dubai for the weekend or even for a month, this is one place in Dubai that you should not miss. It is definitely a place full of things that you can do. A whole day will not be enough to roam this place as it is too big, there are just too many things to do inside that you'll get exhausted visiting it.
The place is easy to reach. Below are the simple steps you can take.
- From your place of Origin, take the nearest Metro Station. Ask the counter agent or check how far your place is from Dubai Mall. Locate the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa Metro station and exit from the station.
- Take the right path after exiting the Metro.
- Follow the pathway leading to the Dubai Mall.
- Just go straight and when you see the huge hall and the Kinokuniya Store then you have arrived at Dubai Mall.
You can also drive to Burj Khalifa. Follow the google maps to reach your destination.
Around 6:30 in the evening we have arrived inside Dubai Mall and started roaming around as we still need to wait for 3 more hours for the Lighting Up. We did a little window shopping while trying to reach the Dubai Fountain which is located outside of the Dubai Mall and in front of Burj Khalifa.
We went to check TGI Fridays to check the view outside their balcony if we can get a proper shot of Burj Khalifa for the said event. The view from the balcony of the restaurant is good but we wanted something better as the place cannot properly provide us the view that we were hoping for.
We decided to go out and check the Dubai Fountain grounds to see if from there, we'll get a better view of the Burj Khalifa.

If you see the image above the place is a good spot for us. The only problem is that we'll need to wait for quite some time before we can be able to watch the event. We would need to sit at a restaurant with a good view.
The Dubai Fountain grounds is a great spot but the only problem is that it is crowded with tourists. Combine the flocking Filipino Community with the normal number of visitors who wanted to see Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall Fountain Show, it will be hard for us to capture the view without getting interrupted by other people.

Our last option is:
Souk Al Bahar
This place is located on the other side of the Dubai Fountains grounds. To get to Souk Al Bahar, you'll have to cross the bridge and go to the other side.
The place is flocked with pricey restaurants and was designed to look like an elegant old Arabian Souq. Little did we know, that one particular restaurant in Souq Al Bahar is a great place to watch the Fountain Show and get a great full view of the Burj Khalifa.
The place is Shake Shack. We recommend this place if you want to watch the Fountain Show from the normal perspective while getting a good view of Burj Khalifa but with fewer tourists around it.
We settled on the outside seats of Shake Shack as we enjoyed ourselves with their tasty burgers and fries. We watched at least 5 Fountain Shows before the said event happens.
Around 08:20 PM, after a beautiful fountain show, it feels like the management of Burj Khalifa tested the colors that they will use and showed us a beautiful view of what they will offer the community at the exact time of the event. They lighted up Burj Khalifa with what seems like the Philippines Flag colors.
At exactly 09:40 PM, Burj Khalifa finally lights up with not just the Philippines Flag colors, but the exact Philippine Flag on the whole building. It was a magnificent sight to see. It was a proud moment for the Filipino Community. Everyone was cheering and taking videos and pictures of this historic event.
It was thanks to the management of Burj Khalifa and Emaar that we were able to witness the beauty of Burj Khalifa together with our beautiful country flag in it.
The Philippines Flag was lighting up Burj Khalifa for about a minute before it continued on with its normal daily routine. We had goosebumps during the said lighting up, as it feels like New Year for us Filipinos.
